Overview
The Sky Room Cafe & Bar offers one of the best free observation decks in Tokyo, and one of the best views of Tokyo Tower. Not only do they offer stunning views of the city, but they also serve a lovely selection of drinks, cocktails, and desserts. Although some people complain about the cost, all the teas, coffees, beers, and cocktails are all fairly priced when considering their high quality, and the ambience of the venue. Drink prices range from ¥850 to ¥1500.
Along with drinks, their dessert menu is also very popular, thanks to celebrity chef Kiyomi Mikuni. I can personally confirm this popularity is justified — without any knowledge of the chef or his incredible desserts, I ordered one for myself, and was blown away — I wasn't expecting a world-class patisserie offering desserts for only ¥1000.

The Sky View Cafe is located in Azabudai Hills, Roppongi, inside the incredible Mori JP Tower. It's the tallest building in Japan and was completed in 2023. Access can be a little confusing - from the main entrance, head up the escalators and towards the Deutsche Bank, next to the bank are elevators that will take you up to the 34th floor.
One things to note, during peak seasons, such as spring and autumn, you may be asked for a ¥500 cover charge to access the area.

For photographers, tripods are allowed, however, the reflections at night can be a challenge. The space is dimly lit to help with the views, but you'll still find some mild reflections in your photos.
They sometimes change how much space is allocated to the seating area.
For the best views and photos, check the daily pollution levels.
The large window space downstairs is not the only viewing area, you can also find a small space next to the bar.
